Position Summary
Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) is seeking a Prevention Services Coordinator to support the Tobacco and Substance Use Prevention and Control (TSUPC) Program embedded within the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC).
This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing substance use prevention contracts and prevention workforce development services, including training, technical assistance, and conference and event logistics. The Prevention Services Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for Maine Prevention Network (MPN) contracted providers and ensures compliance with contractual deliverables, reporting requirements, and invoicing standards.
The role works closely with the Substance Use Prevention Program Manager to review content-area workplans, monitor expenditures, and support statewide prevention initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
Contract Oversight & Compliance
Oversee substance use prevention, evaluation, and prevention workforce development training contracts
Ensure contracted providers meet all contractual deliverables, reporting timelines, and performance expectations
Review, approve, or deny invoices in collaboration with Maine CDC Program Managers
Ensure compliance with all funding requirements, contract terms, and reporting standards
Program Monitoring & Reporting
Review monthly narrative and data submissions from substance use prevention partners
Develop high-level summary reports and debrief documents for the Substance Use Prevention Program Manager
Support Program Managers with review and approval or denial of provider workplans and fund utilization
Technical Assistance & Partner Engagement
Coordinate, facilitate, and attend meetings, trainings, conferences, and tabling events with contracted community providers
Provide technical assistance to support contract compliance and prevention best practices
Assist with planning for and participation in annual site visits for each MPN district community partner
Collaboration & Resource Development
Collaborate with the MPN Manager and Maine CDC Program Managers to develop templates, guidance documents, and tools for community partners
Support conference planning, newsletter development, and community event logistics, as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, or a closely related field
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in one or more of the following:
Primary prevention services (substance use prevention preferred), or
Oversight or delivery of services (e.g., prevention, mental health, substance use) involving formal requirements such as contracts, MaineCare rules, or similar regulatory standards
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in public health, government, or community-based prevention settings
Familiarity with contract management, monitoring, and compliance tracking
Experience using Smartsheet or similar project management tools
