This is a full-time  Monday - Friday role working mostly day hours. Occasional evenings and weekends are required. Behavior Support Specialists earn an hourly rate of $24/hour

Responsibilities

  • →Observe and assess individuals and provide behavioral support using positive behavior strategies
  • →Develop, implement, and evaluate behavioral strategies, making adjustments as needed to support individual goals
  • →Train and educate direct support and management staff on positive behavior supports, behavior plans, documentation, and data collection
  • →Analyze behavioral data and provide information to support ISP updates, funding requests, and other required behavioral services
  • →Serve as a liaison between individuals supported, families, and St. Louis Arc staff to promote consistent behavioral supports
  • →Provide RBT services as scheduled and outlined in individual Behavior Support Plans
  • →Complete required documentation in accordance with agency, funder, and professional guidelines

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Associates Degree preferred 
    • (Associate’s Degree or some college preferred)
    • Registered Behavior Technician Certification (can obtain after hire)
    • Two years of experience working with adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities  
    • Experience supervising and implementing behavior plans preferred
    • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn electronic health record and database systems.
    • Ability to collect, analyze, and present behavioral and productivity data and generate reports.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly teach and explain behavioral strategies.
    • Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and respond appropriately to changing or emergency situations.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals supported, families, and staff.
    • Commitment to staying current on behavior support practices and trends.
