About Us BGC Jane and Finch Club serves children and youth in the Jane and Finch and surrounding communities by providing social, physical, educational, creative, seasonal, and community support programs.
Position Overview We are seeking one Junior and one Senior Dance Instructor to lead our two-week summer dance program. These roles are perfect for individuals who are energetic, experienced, and passionate about teaching dance to youth ages 11–16. You will provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment while helping participants build confidence, creativity, and teamwork through dance.
Program Dates & Hours
  • Dates: July 6 – July 17, 2026
  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Other popular youth dance styles

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead structured dance sessions for youth ages 11–16
  • Plan and deliver daily dance activities, choreography, and warm-ups
  • Supervise participants and ensure a safe environment
  • Foster creativity, confidence, and teamwork among participants
  • Provide mentorship and positive guidance to campers
  • Collaborate with other staff to integrate dance activities into the broader camp program
  • Assist with program setup, transitions, and cleanup

Qualifications
  • Educational background applicable to the position
  • Must meet all Canada Summer Jobs requirements, including:
    • Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
    • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
    • Be legally entitled to work according to provincial/territorial legislation
    • International students are not eligible; recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents
  • Experience working with children ages 6–12
  • Strong skills in one or more of the following areas: sports, arts, swimming, recreation, education, health and nutrition
  • Strong supervision and program planning skills
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (mandatory)
  • Police Reference Check completed within the last 6 months (mandatory prior to start date)
  • HIGH FIVE: Principles of Healthy Child Development training (asset/required)
