Position Summary:
In this role, you will join a motivated team of scientists contributing to pipeline projects with a focus on membrane protein expression and purification to support hit identification campaigns, like DEL and AS-MS to find novel hits molecules. In addition, you will also make contributions to structural biologists to help determine structures of drug targets in complex with molecules, to influence all stages of drug discovery. In addition, you will work closely with teams in other functional areas and with CROs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct construct design for protein expression.
- Conduct GPCR purifications for cryo-EM structure determination while closely working with reagent team and CROs
- Provide qualified reagents to enable hit identification campaign while working closely with biophysical team
- Analyze, interpret, and report protein expression and purification data through meticulous record-keeping, data entry into electronic lab notebook
Qualifications:
- Core Competencies, Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Knowledge in biochemistry and molecular biology
- Solid knowledge in protein expression and purification in multiple systems, including coli, insect cells and mammalian cells
- Hands-on experiences in protein expression and purification, experience on insect cells expression and membrane protein purification is a plus
- Hands-on experiences in molecular cloning. Experience in construct design and reagent optimization is a plus
- Experiences in biochemical experiments
- Knowledge in structural biology is a plus
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Chinese and English
- Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic environment
- Education and Experience
- Master’s degree or above in protein science, biochemistry, or biophysics
- Laboratory experiences of protein expression and purification
- Industry experience is a plus
