Position Summary

The Medical Director will be responsible for leading and executing Clinical Development Plan/Projects to ensure deliverables of Clinical data generation in Asia Pacific region, with a primary focus on China. This role ensures compliance with clinical developmental requirements, supports product development and lifecycle management. The successful candidate will leverage in-depth medical and clinical development knowledge for novel medicine development in China/AP and strong communication skills in both Mandarin and English to bridge global and China/regional clinical strategies and projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive China project/study team to ensure in China-integration into global pipeline development
  • Leading generation/updating of responsible compounds/indications' China Clinical Development Plan (CDP); also provide clinical inputs to all clinical documents, including but not limited to protocols, study reports, etc.; provide clinical support to interacting with health authorities including CTA/NDA submissions, pre-IND/NDA meetings, panel meetings, etc.
  • For China alone studies, provide full medical support to input/review synopsis/protocol, medical monitor study execution, topline data and study report generation, etc.   
  • For global study including China, provide fill medical support for China part; for US or Asia Pacific studies, provide medical support as needed
  • Build up and maintain close working connections with key stakeholders from internal cross function teams, including Nonclinical, Clinical, CMC, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams, and external, including Principal Investigators, Key Option Leads and NMPA/CDE medical reviewers etc.  


Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • M.D. with minimal 7 years clinical medicine training background
  • Major in metabolic therapeutic area, or with a Ph.D. will be plus

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years working experience, including clinical practice, and/or Medical-Affairs/Clinical-Development experience, etc.
  • Clinical development experience no less than 5 years
  • Demonstrated success study responsible physician experience for novel medical development in China
  • Working experience with both MNC and Biotech will be plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Bilingual fluency in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed
