What We Offer
~1 min readThe Benefits Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and operational support in the effective delivery of the Company’s group benefits programmes, including health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, workers’ compensation, life insurance, travel and accident, flexible spending and retirement/pension plans.
The incumbent will deliver a high standard of customer service while ensuring the accurate processing of benefits transactions, proper records management, compliance with established policies and procedures and timely assistance to employees on benefits-related matters. This appointment is offered on a fixed-term contractual basis.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Benefits Processing: Accurate and timely processing of employee benefits enrollments, updates and terminations.
- Records and Database Management: Maintenance of up-to-date and confidential employee benefits records and databases.
- Documentation and Reporting: Timely submission and reconciliation of benefits-related documentation and reports.
- Provider and Stakeholder Coordination: Effective coordination with benefits providers, insurers and internal stakeholders.
- Employee Benefits Support: Prompt response to employee queries regarding benefits, leave, insurance, pensions, and related matters.
- Audit and Compliance Support: Support for benefits audits, compliance checks, and reporting requirements.
- Benefits Communication and Awareness: Assistance with benefits communication initiatives and employee awareness programmes.
- Statutory and Organizational Documentation: Accurate preparation and filing of statutory and organizational benefits documentation.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION:
Applicants should possess a minimum of five (5) CXC/GCE/CSEC Ordinary Level passes, including Mathematics and English, together with at least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role. The successful candidate must be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Excel and other related software, as well as a sound understanding of basic accounting principles.
The role also requires strong customer focus, excellent communication and analytical skills, familiarity with industry requirements and government regulations and certification as a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Additionally, the incumbent must maintain full compliance with the Company’s internal policies and procedures and all applicable local and international regulatory requirements, while demonstrating a good working knowledge of insurance principles and practices with strong attention to technical accuracy and detail.
Candidates possessing a combination of relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience and training will be considered.
