About the Role

Techno is supporting active transportation construction projects across the Hudson Valley and is seeking an Office Engineer to manage documentation, tracking, and contract administration functions.

This role operates between the field and project leadership, ensuring that project records, quantities, and communications are accurately maintained. You’ll play a key part in keeping construction operations organized, auditable, and aligned with agency requirements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain project records including daily reports, correspondence logs, and contract documentation
  • Track quantities installed and assist with preparation of contractor payment estimates
  • Process RFIs, change orders, and contract modifications in coordination with project staff
  • Manage submittal logs and review workflows for shop drawings and material approvals
  • Support schedule tracking by updating milestones and monitoring progress against planned activities
  • Coordinate document flow between field inspectors, contractors, and project leadership
  • Ensure documentation aligns with agency standards and audit requirements
  • Utilize project management systems (including SiteManager or similar platforms) for tracking and reporting
  • Compile closeout documentation, including final quantities and record sets

Requirements

  • 3–7 years supporting construction projects in an office engineering, project coordination, or contract administration capacity
  • Experience working on transportation or public infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with payment tracking, quantity reporting, and change management processes
  • Working knowledge of construction documentation standards and workflows
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active workstreams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience on NYSDOT projects, particularly within Region 8 is preferred
  • Familiarity with SiteManager or comparable construction management systems is highly beneficial
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or NICET certification 
  • EIT certification is a plus

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $50 - $65 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
