Facilities Maintenance Full-Time

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is accepting applications for a part-time Facilities Maintenance located in Newbern. Two years of full–time maintenance experience in a variety of construction, maintenance, and industrial/commercial work is required.

• Knowledge of the materials, methods, and principles used in a variety of construction and maintenance jobs and projects.
• Knowledge of accepted construction methods to determine the cost of a particular job.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. 
• Perform repairs and/or installation of facilities systems. 
• Provide input to facilities operational budget.
• Establish and carry out a preventive maintenance program.
• Provide directions to helpers and less qualified.
• Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.
• Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and convincingly.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.

• →Performs skilled maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and masonry as needed.
• →Makes on-site inspections of jobs to determine what materials and supplies were actually used as well as inspecting quality of work.
• →Orders materials and supplies as needed for various jobs.
• →Confers with higher-level supervisor concerning problems with work assignment or personnel.
• →Performs other work as assigned. Custodial/Janitorial work as needed.

Salary is in accordance with Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines and the TCAT Northwest Compensation Plan. Background checks are conducted on all full-time and part-time employees prior to hiring.
