Vessel Planner

We are currently seeking a Vessel Planner to join our Customer Care Centre, based in Port Botany NSW. In this role, you will provide national vessel planning across DP World Australia’s major terminal operations, ensuring optimised vessel scheduling while maintaining exceptional stakeholder engagement and service standards across internal teams and external customers.
As a shipping line representative, you will leverage expertise in vessel, terminal, and trade operations to support effective vessel planning across the DP World network. You will also apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to proactively identify planning and operational challenges, developing practical solutions to support efficient vessel movements and service delivery.
This is a permanent full-time position, with work required across Monday to Sunday.
Key Accountabilities:
- Drive efficient vessel operations within terminals through accurate vessel planning, effective use of modern planning systems, and continuous development of operational expertise.
Act as the primary liaison between terminal operations and stowage planning teams, ensuring accurate information flow and data sharing to achieve efficient and effective vessel plans.
Develop strong partnerships with internal and external customers to support operational success and improve service standards.
Maintain current knowledge of trade dynamics, vessel limitations, and operational requirements to support effective vessel planning.
Ensure the operational knowledge database remains current and accurate for all requirements for vessels and terminals serviced by DP World.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Formal maritime and related qualifications (preferred).
Comprehensive understanding of vessel operations, including coordination, scheduling, and operational planning.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical skills with a proactive, solutions focused approach.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Leverage digital applications to efficiently produce reports, memos, and other operational documentation.
Willingness to take ownership of role-related projects and drive them through to completion.
