In this role, you'd be joining the Operations team. This team is integral to supporting a fast-moving e-commerce & omni-channel environment. As The Black Tux builds on its event based foundation to become a leading men’s formalwear platform across both rent and purchase, the Operations Team is critical to providing our customers an elevated experience. We form the value chain from product development to final delivery to our retail store and direct to our customers. We work closely with teams across the company to ensure we deliver high quality products.
Responsibilities
~3 min readTo further this important mission, we are looking for a Sr. Director of Supply Chain and Production. The purpose of this role is to support The Black Tux’s end-to-end supply chain from supplier sourcing and vendor management to inbound logistics and inventory management. The Sr. The Director of Supply Chain and Production makes sure the right products with the right quality reach customers on time and at the right cost.
Manage the supply chain of inventory, garments, packaging material and supplies made available for direct sale to consumers and through wholesalers
Oversee inbound and outbound freight and logistics for products, packaging and supplies as well as supplier management for customer rental and retail orders
Support intercompany freight between our distribution centers and 40+ retail locations
Maintain, develop and grow a list of existing and potential suppliers that align with the company’s strategic and financial plans
Research, interview, visit potential suppliers and when appropriate run competitive RFQ/RFP processes for available portions of the company’s business when needed
Partner with Merchandising on new product development and introduction
Own KPI metrics that track supply chain and production performance
Align inventory supply with demand forecasts to optimize stock and service levels
Ensure compliance standards are upheld across the supply chain, including labor, safety and sourcing practices
Build and maintain the systems, process infrastructure and decision making that support supply chain operations
8–12+ years of experience in international supply chain management, sourcing, logistics, or procurement, including 3–5+ years in a leadership/director-level role
Deep understanding of apparel manufacturing & men’s suiting / tailored clothing and demonstrated success matching supply with demand in a seasonal driven business
Proficiency with ERP/Supply Chain systems (MS Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and strong command of KPIs
Direct experience managing end-to-end supply chains with international/offshore manufacturing (Asia, Latin America, or similar sourcing regions common to apparel)
Proven track record managing vendor relationships across multiple countries, including factory audits, negotiations, and performance management
Experience with import/export logistics, customs compliance, and international freight (ocean, air) management, including working knowledge of Incoterms, tariffs/duties and trade regulations.
Demonstrated success matching supply with demand seasonal or trend-driven business
Sound financial background including budget ownership and cost modeling
Fluency in Spanish preferred
Willingness to to travel between our work sites in Los Angeles and Pennsylvania, other company sites and to our internal supplier and manufacturing plants
