Panel Shop / Electrical Manager

Our client – Atlantic Design – is seeking a Panel Shop / Electrical Manager.

Atlantic Design, Inc. is a recognized leader in the design and manufacture of custom equipment for the blasting and coating industry. We are seeking an experienced Panel Shop / Electrical Manager to lead our panel shop operations and support the continued growth of our organization.

This hands-on working manager position is responsible for overseeing and actively participating in the assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and production of control panels for our industrial equipment. The successful candidate will lead and mentor the Panel Shop while managing daily operations, labor planning, workflow scheduling, quality assurance and team performance. This role is accountable for ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with applicable standards, while meeting customer delivery commitments.

• →Lead and actively participate in the daily operations of the electrical panel shop, including panel assembly, wiring, component mounting, testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities.
• →Supervise, mentor, and work alongside Panel Shop personnel, serving as a hands-on working manager who supports production needs and assists with panel fabrication and assembly as required.
• →Collaborate with the Electrical Designer to ensure schematics and panel layouts incorporate best electrical practices, manufacturability, and efficient panel construction methods.
• →Ensure all panel shop work complies with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, Bills of Material (BOMs), UL 508A requirements, and NEC codes.
• →Maintain quality control standards and personally support inspection and testing activities to ensure panels meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• →Schedule panel shop personnel and allocate labor resources to meet production schedules, customer delivery deadlines, and budget objectives.
• →Oversee and participate in pre-installation quality assurance testing and troubleshooting.
• →Promote a safe, efficient work environment through leadership by example and a strong commitment to personal and team safety.
• →Manage departmental expenses, regulate workload, and ensure compliance with maintenance standards and procedures.
• →Ensure electrical and instrumentation work is completed safely, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship.

The starting salary for this position is $75,000. Actual salary may be higher based on experience and licensure / certification.

• Experience: Minimum 8+ years in electrical control panel assembly, industrial automation, or panel fabrication, with 3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design and troubleshooting. Ability to read complex electrical schematics, strong knowledge of UL 508A panel building standards, PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls.
• Voltage Exposure: Demonstrated hands-on experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical systems operating at 24 VDC, 120 VAC, and 480 VAC, including control panels, motor controls, PLC-controlled systems, and VFDs.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• License / Certification: Journeyman Electrician license required; Master Electrician license preferred.
• Must be able to climb ladders and industrial equipment and work in various positions to inspect, install, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Must be able to pass Drug screening test.

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment a plus.
