CNC Machinist

Current Open Position: 1

DAY SHIFT 6 am - 4:30 pm 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to program, set up and run CNC Machines (lathe or VMC) independently
  • Ability to program CNC machines using MASTERCAM CAM or SOLIDWORKS software required
  • Knowledge of CAMWORKS is an asset
  • Has experience with Okuma, Fanuc or Heidenhain controllers
  • Proficient in Trigonometry
  • Good communication skills with the ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization
  • Good housekeeping skills
  • Safe work habits
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must be a team player and as well as able to work independently


Minimum Qualifications

General Machinist Ticket

Minimum 8+ years of CNC machining experience

Ability to write own CNC program

Technical/Mechanical troubleshooting skills

Familiar with Okuma, Fanuc or Heidenhain controllers


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write own simple 2D programs from production drawings
  • Machine parts using Okuma, Fanuc or Heidenhain controllers
  • Set up and operate machines (CNC Lathes or VMC/HBM machines) using proper tools and the most efficient techniques
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, materials, specifications, and machining parameters
  • Operate manual lathe when required
  • Maximize efficiencies of production
  • Keep the machine in good working order through scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Understand the principles of ISO
  • Protect self and others by following the Company Health and Safety Policy and practicing safe work habits
  • Ensure the work area is kept clean and safe from hazards
  • Other functions that may be assigned

Physical Demands

While carrying out the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, climb, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted; to work in, on, around, and over fixed equipment and machinery; reach forward and above shoulders to rotate equipment or product; work in hazardous or dirty, dusty environments and wear and work in personal protective equipment.
