The Manager of Brokerage Risk leads the risk team responsible for monitoring and managing risk across the brokerage business. This role ensures trading activity is supervised, controls are effective in real time, and risk exposures are understood and managed at both the account and firm level.
You will provide leadership to Risk Analysts and partner with the Trade Desk, Operations, and Compliance to make risk decisions that protect clients and the firm. You’ll build risk monitoring practices that are operationally sound, regulatory-ready, and scalable as the business grows.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong knowledge of futures markets, disciplined judgement under pressure, and a practical approach to risk execution and governance.
The Manager of Brokerage Risk champions a customer-centric approach while maintaining and optimizing rigorous risk controls. They lead by example, ensuring swift and decisive action in response to operational challenges, risk events, or unusual account activity.
- Lead the daily operations of the Brokerage Risk team, including intraday monitoring and escalation coverage.
- Coach, mentor, and manage Risk Analysts to ensure consistent execution, documentation, and control discipline.
- Establish clear supervision routines, accountability, and performance standards across the risk function.
- Oversee monitoring of customer accounts for margin sufficiency, liquidation risk, and abnormal trading behavior.
- Supervise discretionary interventions and escalation decisions in coordination with the Trade Desk.
- Ensure timely response to high-risk events before forced liquidation when appropriate.
- Monitor aggregate exposure across all client accounts, including product concentration and correlated risk behavior.
- Recommend adjustments to risk thresholds, monitoring triggers, and oversight practices as volume scales.
- Partner with clearing and brokerage counterparts to ensure risk parameters remain aligned.
- Own escalation standard, override controls, and incident response protocols.
- Ensure all risk events are logged, reviewed, and close with documented mitigations.
- Lead post-mortems and controls improvements following operational or market stress events.
- Oversee maintenance and continuous improvement of risk tools, reporting dashboards, and monitoring workflows.
- Drive risk automation initiatives and KPI development to strengthen oversight maturity.
- Compile exposure and trend reporting for Brokerage leadership and executive review.
- 5+ years of experience in brokerage risk, futures supervision, FCM risk, or trade surveillance.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related or equivalent field.
- Strong understanding of futures margining, liquidation workflows, and retail client risk dynamics.
- Advanced Excel Skills and analytical capability.
- Experience working with professional financial institutions.
- Experience in the trading industry - futures markets preferred.
- Excellent judgment, integrity, and ability to lead decisively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills across Trade Desk, Operations, Compliance, and external partners.
- Strong attention to detail.
Nice to Have

- Experience building risk dashboards, alerting systems, or modernization initiatives within a brokerage risk function.
- Familiarity with risk monitoring platforms (QST, T4, Rival Risk or similar).
- Series 3 license (or willingness to obtain).
What We Offer
~1 min read- $100,000 - $115,000.
- Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
- The compensation offered will take into account internal compensation structure and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
