Join our Systems Test team, where we validate the safety and performance of Torc’s autonomous driving system through simulation, virtual testing, and data-driven validation. Our team works at the intersection of perception, planning, systems engineering, and safety, ensuring that autonomous behavior is thoroughly tested across a wide range of real-world and edge-case scenarios before deployment.
Responsibilities
~1 min readAs a Senior Simulation Test Engineer, you will contribute to the development and execution of scenario-based validation strategies, leveraging simulation to evaluate system performance, identify gaps, and improve overall robustness. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across autonomy, systems, and safety to ensure that simulation insights translate into meaningful improvements in the real-world behavior of our vehicles.
- →Contribute to the planning and execution of simulation-based test campaigns for autonomous vehicle V&V efforts
- →Collaborate with Product, Systems, and Safety teams to support simulation-driven validation strategies
- →Develop, maintain, and expand Torc’s Scenario Library, including Abstract, Logical, and Concrete scenarios to improve ODD coverage
- →Identify testing gaps and propose improvements to simulation tools, environments, and test frameworks
- →Partner with internal tools teams and external vendors to enhance simulation and virtual testing capabilities
- →Perform analysis and triage of simulation results, including development of dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience in Computer Science, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Experience with simulation and virtual testing of perception and/or autonomous driving systems
- Experience developing scenarios aligned with OpenSCENARIO standards, including Abstract and/or Logical scenarios
- Experience developing test cases and test procedures for complex systems
- Proficiency in Python scripting and YAML, including data analysis and automation workflows
- Strong experience with system-level debugging, fault isolation, and analysis
- Proficiency working in a Linux environment
- Working knowledge of probability and linear algebra
- Ability to communicate test results clearly and collaborate effectively across teams
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art approaches to autonomous vehicle validation
Nice to Have

- Experience developing or validating sensor models, traffic models, or vehicle dynamics models
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System)
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or contributing to team best practices
