The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for supporting the effective EHS management system that will ensure ongoing compliance towards TPI Composite’s EHS standards and regulatory compliance, while improving site safety culture. The EHS Specialist will actively collaborate and participate as a valued member of the site team to provide EHS guidance, technical support and coordinate activities and processes across the site. The position includes a balance of environmental and safety experience/responsibilities.
Responsibilities
~1 min read• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school and one to four years’ related experience and/or training in EHS with experience in regulatory structure in a manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven track record of results; providing functional coaching in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communicator with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Able to interact comfortably with business and operations leaders to establish credibility and influence where necessary.
• Strong computer and data management skills desired. Experience with web-based applications, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, is required.
• Must have the ability to prioritize in a challenging environment of competing needs and tactically implement and bring projects to closure in a timely manner.
• Creativity, speed, dependability, and organizational skills that will enable management of multiple priorities.
• Embrace responsibility, initiative, capacity to work independently and dedication to producing high quality work product. Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
• Organizational skills. Team orientation and leadership ability.
• High level of personal motivation, results, and integrity with a drive for ownership and accountability in performance of job responsibilities.
Skill Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
