The Supervisor, Product Development Laboratory is responsible for supervising assigned Product Development Testing team activities comprising one or more of the following: engineers, technicians, model makers and modal strain personnel. Assigned responsibility will be related to one or more of the following: product engineering support, laboratory testing, model making, and/or modal strain testing. Key responsibilities include assignment and follow up of resources to complete all activities required to support assigned product development project and sustaining engineering activities. Reviews and assigns laboratory work orders to team members. Ensures proper training, setup, testing, equipment use are provided or utilized to support successful completion of assigned activities.
This position will serve our US Air Division, located in Fort Smith, AR.
- Supervise, train and evaluate technical and support staff; determines work assignments.
- Review laboratory work orders and assign priority. Ensure proper training, setup, instrumentation, equipment, materials, and testing are utilized to support successful product testing. Ensure accuracy of activities and appropriate forms are being utilized to communicate the results.
Works with lab management to support implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Ensure predictive maintenance activities are being done correctly and on time.
Works with lab management to provide training and guidance to laboratory team members as necessary to ensure correct laboratory protocols are being safely applied.
Manage and facilitate the communication process among the various departments to ensure assigned laboratory testing requirements are understood.
Works with lab management to support development of laboratory standard operating procedures (SOP).
Serve as a mentor and coach to assigned laboratory team members.
Performs other duties as assigned
- Associates Degree in Technical Field
- 5+ years of HVACR industry experience in service, testing, and application
- More than 5 years of laboratory test equipment and instrumentation (model making, engineering design, and research development)
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others is a matrix team environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple assignments at one time
