Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in nursing or Physican Assistant license
  • Minimum of two years APP experience in an acute care setting, -OR- recently licensed APP with 5 years' experience in an acute care setting as an RN.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APP/CPN License. Current BLS and ACLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

  • Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines). 
  • Must have normal communication sensory requirement.
  • Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated. 
Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing


This position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification). A criminal conviction or arrest pending adjudication alone shall not disqualify an applicant except as provided by law. Any criminal history will be evaluated in relationship to job responsibilities and business necessity.  The information obtained in these reports will be used in a confidential, non-discriminatory manner consistent with state and federal law. 

An APRN/PA in a Emergency Department/CDU provides advanced clinical care to patients who require observation (typically 6–24 hours) for further testing, monitoring, or treatment after an Emergency Department visit.

  • Perform minor procedures
  • Participate in policy development
  • Mentor nurses
  • Perform comprehensive health histories
  • Identify acute and chronic health conditions
  • Assess risk factors and overall patient status
  • Perform other duties as needed
