Digital-First Content Videographer

1. Project Title

Digital-First Content Production – Ubongo

2. Background & Context

Ubongo is a leading edutainment Organization producing high-quality educational content for children across Africa. As part of its strategic shift toward digital-first content, Ubongo is expanding into agile, high-volume video production designed for rapid testing, iteration, and scalability across digital platforms.

This requires a skilled videographer capable of producing engaging live-action and hybrid (live-action + animation) content aligned with Ubongo’s creative and learning goals.

3. Purpose of the Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to produce high-quality digital-first video content, including music-based and presenter-led formats, that can be rapidly deployed, tested, and scaled across Ubongo’s platforms.

4. Scope of Work

4.1 Production (Core Responsibility)

• Capture high-quality live-action footage for children’s educational content
• Film music-based and presenter-led content across selected locations
• Ensure visually engaging, culturally relevant, and child-friendly visuals
  
  

4.2 Content Creation

The videographer will be responsible for producing:

A. Live Action Music-Based Content

• Number Train Song – Live-action versions (3 versions)
• 1,2,3 Song – Live-action versions (3 versions)

B. Presenter-Led Exploratory Content

• Hybrid format (Live Action + Animation)
• Presenter-led engaging exploration content (e.g., Willy format)
  
  

4.3 Post-Production

• Edit and compile all captured footage into final deliverables
• Sync visuals with music, scripts, and educational objectives
• Prepare clean edits for animation integration
• Deliver platform-ready final outputs
  
  

4.4 Collaboration & Workflow

• Work closely with:
  • Post Production Manager (direct supervisor)
  • Creative Director
  • Director of Digital Products
  • Digital Product Manager
• Participate in creative alignment and feedback sessions
• Iterate quickly based on feedback
  
  

5. Key Deliverables

• 3 × Number Train Live-Action Video Versions
• 3 × 1,2,3 Song Live-Action Video Versions
• Presenter-led hybrid (Live Action + Animation) content
• Fully edited and compiled final videos
• Organized raw footage and project files
  
  

6. Duration of Assignment

• The assignment is expected to take two months to complete.
  
  

7. Reporting & Supervision

• Reports To: Post Production Manager
• Key Collaborators:
  • Creative Director
  • Director of Digital Products
  • Digital Product Manager
    
    

8. Budget & Payment Terms

• Payment will be made on a deliverables-based arrangement, upon satisfactory completion and approval of agreed outputs.
• Candidates are requested to submit their financial proposals/estimates for the assignment based on the scope of work and deliverables outlined.
  
  

9. Required Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in videography and video editing
• Strong portfolio of digital-first or social-first content
• Ability to produce engaging, child-friendly visuals
• Experience working in fast-paced, iterative production environments
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
  
  

10. Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve)
• Strong camera operation and lighting skills
• Ability to deliver high-quality audio and visuals
• Understanding of hybrid production workflows (live-action + animation is an advantage)
  
  

11. Performance Expectations

• Deliver high-quality outputs within tight timelines
• Demonstrate strong visual storytelling and creativity
• Respond effectively to feedback and iteration cycles
• Align outputs with Ubongo’s educational and creative standards
  
  

12. Intellectual Property & Confidentiality

All deliverables produced under this assignment shall remain the property of Ubongo.
The videographer is expected to maintain strict confidentiality of all project materials.

13. Evaluation Criteria

Performance and selection will be based on:

• Quality of portfolio
• Creativity and storytelling ability
• Technical execution
• Understanding of digital-first content
• Ability to deliver within budget and timelines
