The UConn Stamford Campus seeks candidates for the position of Director of Stamford Admissions and Recruitment (Senior Student Services Program Administrator). Reporting to the Campus Dean, the Director of Stamford Admissions and Recruitment provides strategic leadership for undergraduate admissions, recruitment, and enrollment management initiatives for the Stamford campus. 

The Director develops and implements enrollment strategies that support institutional goals, oversees campus-based admissions operations, analyzes enrollment trends and market opportunities and cultivates relationships with prospective students, schools, and community stakeholders. Additionally, the Director collaborates closely with the Undergraduate Admissions Office at the Storrs Campus and University partners to enhance recruitment, enrollment, and student success initiatives in accordance with University and departmental policies. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for Stamford Admissions Office operations, including supervising professional staff and student workers, directing the campus visit program, and compiling, analyzing, and reporting admissions data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinates with Storrs Admissions and campus partners to align recruitment, admissions, and enrollment strategies; supports application review and evaluation in accordance with University policies and standards.
  • Provides strategic leadership for the development and execution of large-scale campus recruitment events, including Open Houses, UConn Bound Days, Student Panels, Husky for a Day programs, specialty major programs, and other signature admissions initiatives.
  • Develops and implements strategic outreach initiatives with regional high schools and community-based organizations to promote campus visits, increase participation in campus tours and recruitment programs, and cultivate meaningful relationships with prospective students that support informed college choice and enrollment decisions.
  • Conducts in-state and occasional out-of-state travel for recruitment events and to strengthen partnerships, expand recruitment pipelines, and advance enrollment goals.
  • Oversees recruitment resource allocation and budget planning to maximize enrollment results and return on investment.
  • Delivers admissions presentations and information sessions for prospective students, families, guidance counselors, and recruitment groups, including application guidance, campus information, and recruitment materials.
  • Advises applicants on admission requirements, eligibility, program options, and residency; serves as a resource for students, families, and partner institutions by interpreting policies and providing referrals.
  • Collaborates with ITS, Operations, and the Campus Dean’s office to develop online and social media content to drive Stamford admissions marketing strategy.
  • Partners with academic and administrative units on campus to develop events and messaging that highlight Stamford’s unique programs, such as Digital Media and Design, Computer Science, School of Business and other majors.
  • Supports international student enrollment in partnership with Storrs Admissions and the Office for International Student and Scholar Services.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of campus housing options and processes and effectively communicates information and resources to prospective students and families.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and at least 4 years of related professional experience in admissions, recruitment, or enrollment management, including experience developing and implementing recruitment strategies OR Bachelor’s degree and at least six years of related professional experience in admissions, recruitment, or enrollment management, including experience developing and implementing recruitment strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective in‑person and virtual presentations.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience utilizing data analytics to inform enrollment and recruitment strategies.
  • Experience developing and managing recruitment budgets and resources.
  • Experience building partnerships with secondary schools, community organizations, and educational stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving enrollment growth or recruitment objectives.
  • Proven knowledge of Connecticut and the Northeast student catchment areas, including socio-economic, demographic, and academic trends that influence recruitment strategies.

This is a full-time, permanent position at the Stamford campus. The chosen incumbent must have the ability and willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
