Located in one of the nation’s most iconic and dynamic cities, the University of Denver Sturm College of Law has a long and distinguished tradition in experiential education.  The law school features a DU Bar Success program for graduates of Denver Law to aid in bar preparation studies with numerous practice problems utilizing bar exam materials. The program features workshops, mock bar exams, individualized feedback, and coaching.  We provide one-on-one coaching to help graduates keep on track and make the most of the learning experience. 

The Sturm College of Law seeks to hire part-time (hourly, non-benefited) Coaches to advance the DU Bar Success Program through coaching, working with bar takers, law students, and recent graduates as they prepare for bar exams. 

What We Offer

  • Work closely with and support the Program Director and Assistant Director.
  • Meet routinely with students and graduates to coach through bar exam preparation.
  • Track individual meetings, document bar studier learning progress, and other information relevant to bar coaching.
  • If desired, proctor mock bar exams with a physical presence at the law school.
  • A high degree of professionalism
  • A strong commitment to inclusion
  • The ability to listen, understand, and problem-solve with students to overcome learning concerns and hurdles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and to functioning in a high-paced, collaborative work and learning environment.

Requirements

  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and providing comments on word documents
  • Licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction

Requirements

  • Experience in higher education, teaching, instructional design, cognitive science, counseling, and affiliated fields.
  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado

Hours are flexible and could accommodate remote work.

The hourly rate for this position is $40.00

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
