About the Role
~1 min readThe Senior IT Officer, Executive Support delivers advanced IT support and digital workplace services across the University, supporting end-user computing, collaboration platforms, and technology-enabled learning, teaching and meeting environments. The role ensures reliable, high-quality workplace technology and a consistent user experience across academic, administrative and event activities.
With strong technical capability and delegated access, the position resolves complex issues across Microsoft 365, collaboration tools and AV/VC systems, including managing mailboxes, calendars, permissions, file access and conferencing technologies. It also supports integrated learning and meeting spaces and contributes to the smooth delivery of events and high-impact activities.
The role provides trusted, responsive support to senior stakeholders, maintaining discretion and professionalism while ensuring efficient, secure digital work environments. Acting as a bridge between frontline support and platform teams, it drives end-to-end issue resolution, reduces escalations, and supports the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI tools, to enhance productivity.
- Provide advanced IT support for end-user computing, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware, software and standard environments.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, managing shared resources, access, collaboration tools and identity controls to maintain secure, effective environments.
- Support collaboration and communication platforms, including Zoom and AV/VC spaces, ensuring reliable, integrated systems for teaching, meetings and events.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across platforms, taking ownership through to resolution.
- Deliver IT support for meetings and events, ensuring systems are tested, configured and ready to meet user needs.
Role Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in providing advanced IT support in a large, complex environment, including end-user computing, workplace technologies and service delivery.
- Proven experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and identity and access management.
- Demonstrated experience supporting collaboration platforms and unified communications technologies, including Zoom and AV/VC systems, with the ability to troubleshoot integrated meeting and conferencing environments.
- Experience leading and coordinating technology-enabled learning and meeting environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across multiple technologies and systems within enterprise ICT environments.
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, including senior staff, and deliver services with a high level of professionalism, discretion and responsiveness.
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 plus 17% superannuation.
