Description of the Position:
Responsible for the implementation and the compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures and supervision of the operation of assigned table games to ensure game integrity and customer satisfaction. Works under general supervision and utilizes judgment in decisions related to the position or game.
Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks:
All team members are obligated to support and uphold the Valley View Casino’s Standards of Excellence as outlined in the Team Member Guide to Success.
Enforces performance standards, policies and procedures relating to table games, ensuring compliance with the Gaming regulations.
Responsible for checking bank roll from previous shift to ensure accuracy; assists Pit Manager is physical count of bank roll at shift change. Must be able to visually count racks and be able to accurately determine win/loss on all games.
Observes game, players and dealers to ensure accuracy of game and enforces all policies and procedures.
Ensures that all games move at an appropriate pace.
Responsible for table limits and protecting the integrity of the game and all gaming equipment and supplies.
Promotes positive customer relations, providing a delightful gaming experience by answering questions, resolving disputes, calling beverage servers, comping, etc.
Assists in training and evaluating of subordinate Team Members in a fair and equitable manner. Responsible for ongoing training of dealers.
Responsible for tracking players, noting buy-ins, length of play, win/loss and average bets. Must be able to reconcile the rack to determine win/loss.
Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) and attendant regulations as well as the Company’s internal controls, policies and procedures. Must know policies and procedures and be will versed in the Team Member Guide To Success.
Be familiar with pit accounting procedures and administrative tasks such as fills, credits, marker transactions and responsibilities.
Responsible for completing run down of all games for end-of-shift report.
Responsible for conducting all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner
Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises any Team Member(s) under span of control.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, auditioning, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching and/or correcting Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems toward a non-biased outcome.
Responsible for ensuring qualified dealers are on all games.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Two years of experience in dealing blackjack (pitch) and 2 of the following: roulette, pai-gow, or mini-bac.
One year of table games supervision experience or currently hold position of Dealer at Valley View Casino.
Excellent understanding of basic strategy and skill at detecting advantage play.
Excellent guest service skills and ability to build personal relationships with guests.
Good computer skills.
Working knowledge of all house games.
Knowledge and experience in MTL and CTR reporting.
Ability to check bank roll from previous shift to ensure accuracy and count bank roll at shift change.
Ability to visually count racks and determine win/loss on all games.
Ability to promote positive customer relations, providing a delightful gamin experience by answering questions, resolving disputes, calling beverage servers, comping, etc.
Ability to assist in training and evaluating team members.
Knowledge of pit accounting procedures and administrative tasks such as fills, credits, and marker transactions.
Strong organization and communication skills required.
Must have the ability to speak English fluently.
Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
Must successfully pass a drug screening test.
Must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions, basic strategy test, skill testing, and math test.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in writing and delivering evaluations.
Experience in coaching and counseling team members.
Ability to hold team members accountable for policy and procedure violations.
Physical Requirements of the Position:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Clear vision (close, distant, peripheral, and depth perception) is needed for navigating office and casino environments, reading and reviewing reports and policies, operating data processing equipment and other essential job functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear.
The Team Member is regularly required to sit and use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel.
The Team Member is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions:
The Casino is open 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week; therefore, you must be flexible to work any and all shifts.
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is exposed to second hand tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
The Team Member is usually subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
The Team Member is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor the noise level increases to loud.
