The Role

We're looking for a self-driven Senior Software Engineer in Test who will be the founding quality engineer for our brand new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for MedTech product. MedTech companies use PLM software to capture, control, and manage frequent changes to their product designs. Your work helps get medical devices to patients faster and more safely. This is a fast moving startup within a stable industry-leading company and a growth opportunity into leadership.

The ideal candidate will be highly technical, detail-oriented, creative, motivated, and focused on achieving results. This is a greenfield opportunity to build the quality engineering process from the ground up. Product quality is extremely important at Veeva. You will own both the quality strategy and execution for a high stakes product with a responsibility of shipping high-quality features without regressions.

Define automation strategies

Design and develop new automation frameworks using modern technologies

Monitor, analyze, and report test automation results

Contribute to automation infrastructure improvements

Collaborate with Developers, QA, and PMs to identify automation test cases that will ensure product quality

7+ years of experience in software test automation or software development

Strong coding skills in TypeScript, Python, or Java

Deep proficiency with API and UI automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, REST Assured, or Postman

Thorough understanding of modern best practices for software development like design patterns, code reusability, extensibility, and maintainability

Experience with tools that can generate large and realistic test data

Ability to navigate and understand complex product requirements

Experience and ability in developing test automation frameworks from scratch

Expertise using tools like Git and Maven/Gradle

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins

Strong written and verbal English skills to support complex analysis

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software

Experience with enterprise or large-scale SaaS platforms

Exposure to regulated or compliance-focused environments

Familiarity with performance testing tools such as k6, Gatling, or JMeter

Experience working in Unix/Linux and AWS environments

Base pay: $100,000 - $150,000

The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
