About the Role

Verkada is investing in channel as a core growth motion, and this role is ground zero for that bet. As Director, Partner Solutions Engineering, you will build Verkada's Channel Solutions Engineering (CSE) function from scratch. This is a rare opportunity to define the strategy, hire the team, establish the playbook, and own the outcomes for how Verkada's partner ecosystem wins technically.

You will report directly to the Worldwide VP of Solutions Engineering and serve as the senior-most technical voice for Verkada's channel organization. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Sales, Solutions Engineering, Strategy, and Operations. But make no mistake, this is a builder role. Responsibilities

  • Build the Function: Design and stand up the Channel Solutions Engineering organization from scratch, including headcount model, team structure, coverage strategy, and operating cadence. Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of Channel SEs and managers built for scale.
  • Establish the CSE Playbook: Define how Verkada engages partners technically, from partner tiering and engagement models to demo standards, technical validation frameworks, and enablement curricula.
  • Drive Partner Technical Excellence: Support technical enablement program covering certifications, training, labs, and sandbox environments that turns partners into genuine Verkada experts. Own the partner technical lifecycle from recruitment through activation and ongoing development.
  • Shape Go-to-Market Strategy: Build a channel SE motion that complements and extends the direct SE motion. Develop differentiated technical support models across partner types. Champion Verkada's technical positioning in partner-led sales cycles.
  • Align Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Channel Sales, Direct SE, Product, and Marketing to align enablement initiatives to product roadmap and business priorities. Define and track KPIs for the CSE function, including partner-influenced pipeline, technical win rates, enablement completion, and certification attainment.
  • Serve as the Executive Technical Sponsor: Act as the escalation point and senior technical presence for Verkada's most strategic partner relationships. Represent the partner voice internally, surfacing gaps and driving product feedback loops.
  • Industry Experience: 10+ years in pre-sales or solutions engineering, with meaningful time owning complex technical solution design at scale.
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years leading technical pre-sales organizations at the Director level, including management of managers.
  • Channel Expertise: Demonstrated experience building or substantially scaling a channel or partner SE motion, ideally from an early or undefined stage. Deep familiarity with reseller ecosystems.
  • Technical Depth: Strong fluency across Cloud, Networking, Physical Security, Storage, and Software. Able to credibly engage with both C-suite stakeholders and hands-on architects. Industry certifications a plus.
  • Program Rigor: Track record of defining and executing partner enablement programs at scale. Data-driven approach to measuring team performance and reporting to executive leadership.
  • Travel: This role requires significant travel, estimated at 50%+, domestic and international, to support partner engagements, team collaboration, and executive meetings.
  • Bonus: Physical security industry experience.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience.

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
