The DVT Engineer – 2nd Shift is responsible for executing Design Verification Testing (DVT) activities to ensure liquid cooling products meet performance, reliability, and quality requirements. This role is focused on test execution, data collection, and real-time troubleshooting, with primary responsibility for supporting lab operations during second shift hours. 

The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to validate product performance, support Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and ensure consistent, high-quality test results. 

This position requires collaboration across mechanical, electrical, controls, process, and manufacturing engineering in a fast-paced lab environment, with a strong emphasis on independent execution during off-shift operations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Design Verification Tests (DVT) according to established test plans and procedures.  

  • Set up, operate, and monitor test equipment and liquid cooling systems during second shift operations.  

  • Ensure proper system configuration, instrumentation setup, and test readiness prior to execution.  

  • Monitor system performance in real-time and respond to alarms, faults, or abnormal conditions.  

  • Collect, verify, and document accurate test data in accordance with lab standards.  

  • Maintain detailed test logs, observations, and shift handoff notes.  

  • Support data analysis efforts by organizing and summarizing test results.  

  • Assist in preparing systems and instrumentation for FWT activities.  

  • Support execution of test procedures and ensure systems meet defined test conditions.  

  • Provide real-time support during testing and document results for internal and customer review.  

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to test setup, instrumentation, and system performance.  

  • Support root-cause investigations for test failures and unexpected results.  

  • Escalate critical issues to senior engineers or lab leadership as needed.  

  • Work with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to support validation activities.  

  • Assist with prototype builds, test setup modifications, and system adjustments.  

  • Support implementation of test improvements and lab process updates.  

  • Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, repeatability, and data quality.  

  • Support development and refinement of test procedures and documentation.  

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of lab spaces and test areas (5S practices). 

 

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).  

  • 1–4 years of experience in test engineering, lab operations, or product validation.  

  • Basic understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer systems.  

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and basic electrical schematics.  

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.  

  • Ability to work independently during second shift hours in a lab environment.  

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with thermal systems, liquid cooling, or HVAC equipment.  

  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation.  

  • Exposure to ASHRAE testing or similar performance validation methods.  

  • Experience supporting Factory Witness Testing (FWT) or customer-facing test activities.  

  • Basic understanding of controls systems or PLC operation.
