VDC Manager, Mechanical & Plumbing

Modern commercial and industrial construction demands far more than accurate models-it requires digital leadership that improves constructability, reduces risk, and drives better decisions before work reaches the field. This role exists to own that challenge for mechanical and plumbing systems. As project complexity, speed, and coordination demands increase, the organization needs a VDC leader who can bring clarity to ambiguity, integrate BIM from design through construction, and elevate both project outcomes and team capability. What You'll Be Asked to Accomplish

• Lead end-to-end BIM/VDC execution for multiple mechanical and plumbing projects, ensuring models are coordinated, constructible, and aligned with construction sequencing from early design through the field.

• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing VDC team that can deliver consistent quality across concurrent projects and time zones.

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and trade partners, using BIM insights to proactively resolve issues, guide decisions, and improve project outcomes.

• Advance BIM/VDC standards, training, and innovation by improving workflows, sharing best practices, and piloting new digital or AI-enabled approaches that raise efficiency and quality.

You're Likely a Strong Fit If

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, or a similar discipline
• You have 5+ years of experience providing implementation, training, and support in BIM and VDC and working for a plumbing and/or mechanical trade contractor
• You have have managed 2-3 detailers
• You have experience in combining and coordinating BIM updates, running clash detection on revised components and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders
• You have experience modeling, drafting, producing drawings, and reading mechanical and plumbing plans
• You have the capability to work effectively in a self-directed way within an extremely fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• You can manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
• You can read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
• You have a proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an "all hands on deck" approach
• You can work some early/late hours to coordinate with project teams in other countries
• You have experience in leading online meetings and training sessions across remote project teams using platforms
• You have experience with software such as AutoCAD MEP and/or Fabrication CADMEP

Compensation and featured benefits:

• The pay for this position is $100,000 – $130,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
• Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
• Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
