~1 min readVMCH is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting within the Financial Control function, this role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of VMCH’s financial reporting and governance framework.
You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial transactions, journals, reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts that support monthly and annual reporting requirements. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will contribute to financial control, regulatory compliance, system integration activities, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the effectiveness of our finance operations.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead and support key components of the month-end close process
- →Prepare and review revenue and expenditure journals
- →Analyse financial results and provide meaningful commentary on variances and trends
- →Maintain ownership of assigned balance sheet reconciliations and controls
- →Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
- →Support internal and external audit processes
- →Collaborate with Finance Systems and operational stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data flows
- →Contribute to system implementation, integration, and process improvement initiatives
- →Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting activities
- →Support the ongoing development of financial policies, procedures, and controls
You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and improving processes. You thrive in a collaborative environment and have a strong understanding of financial controls, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- CA or CPA qualification
- Experience in a similar accounting role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, journals, and financial reporting
- Experience working with large ERP systems (Epicor experience highly regarded)
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience within the aged care, community services, health, or not-for-profit sectors
- Exposure to finance transformation, systems implementation, or integration projects
