As a Regional Manager at Ware Malcomb, you will be a key leader responsible for driving office growth, revenue performance, profitability, and operational excellence. You will oversee team member management, client relationships, financial oversight, and strategic business development to ensure the office meets its organizational, diversification, and performance goals. In this role, you will cultivate a strong team culture, maintain high standards of project delivery, and represent Ware Malcomb within the local and regional market.

  • Lead the office’s overall performance, culture, and daily operations while modeling Ware Malcomb values and maintaining a positive, team‑oriented environment.
  • Manage all office proposals and contracts, client and consultant, including coordination with the Accounting Group and ensuring final review by Regional leadership.
  • Review all project budget reports prior to contract execution and verify alignment with financial expectations and staffing plans.
  • Maintain and update the office organizational chart; continuously assess staffing needs, direct vs. indirect headcount, and revenue-per-person expectations.
  • Review monthly project revenue projections and provide weekly updates as needed to ensure accuracy and alignment with office goals.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements, track profitability, and ensure the office meets or exceeds the 15% profitability target.
  • Monitor and manage DSO performance, maintaining days at or below 80.
  • Prepare the annual office strategic mind map and ensure alignment with company wide revenue growth, diversification, and geographic expansion goals.
  • Drive measurable progress in Diversification Services through focused business development efforts for each service line.
  • Actively grow the office by identifying and developing potential #2 leadership candidates for both office and operations roles.
  • Consistently market and promote Ware Malcomb locally and regionally; attend key networking and business development events within the market.
  • Partner with Regional leadership and the marketing team to lead pursuit strategies, proposal development, and competitive positioning.
  • Support and amplify Ware Malcomb’s presence through social media engagement and external visibility efforts.
  • Oversee office workload schedules, ensuring balanced staffing, efficient project delivery, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Identify and manage project liability concerns immediately, notifying the Director/Principal and CFO when risks arise.
  • Conduct recurring monthly one‑on‑one meetings with all team members to maintain communication, alignment, and engagement.
  • Participate in new employee interviews, performance reviews, and hiring decisions alongside Regional leadership.
  • Collaborate with the in‑house recruiting team, actively source candidates, and leverage local networks to strengthen the talent pipeline.
  • Monitor HR‑related issues, escalate appropriately, and maintain awareness of office morale, wellbeing, and team dynamics.
  • Support and participate in office social, wellness, community, and philanthropic events, including the company wide initiatives.
  • 10+ years of experience within the field of architecture
  • Prior experience leading a team or studio
  • Experience developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Licensed Architect strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to lead and foster a team environment
