Construction Document Control Specialist
Company Description
WB Melback Corporation is a wholly Canadian owned company with headquarters based in Haileybury, Ontario with job sites all over the country. WB Melback Corporation provides Mechanical Maintenance and Industrial Construction Services to Forestry and Mining sectors across Canada.
We are currently seeking a Construction Document Control Specialist to join our team
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage, organize, and maintain all project documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, and related project records
- Receive, log, track, file, scan, and store all electronic and hard copy project documentation
- Ensure proper version control and that only the most current approved documents are in use
- Distribute documents to internal teams and external stakeholders including project managers, engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients
- Maintain document control systems and databases (e.g., Aconex, Procore, SharePoint or other platforms)
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and client requirements
- Support reporting requirements including document status, submittal tracking, and action item logs
- Serve as the main point of contact for document control inquiries and coordination between project stakeholders
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining organized, audit-ready records
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements & Assets:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Proficiency with document control systems and general computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment
- Understanding of construction project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and submittals
- Business Administration diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
The following experience and qualifications are considered assets:
- Experience in construction document control, project coordination, or project administration
- Experience with Aconex, Procore, SharePoint, or similar document management systems
- Experience in industrial construction, mining, forestry, or heavy industrial projects
- Bilingualism (English/French)
Location:
Temiskaming Shores, Ontario Area
Hours:
10-hour shifts (30-minute unpaid lunch)
Compensation:
$35-$55.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
