Do you love working with your hands and have a knack for tech? We’re looking for a Robot Trainer to join our team in Santa Clara. You’ll be the person behind the controls, "teaching" humanoid robots how to move and interact with the world by teleoperating them and labeling the data you collect.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Remote Control: Teleoperate humanoid robots and robotic arms to perform daily tasks.
  • Video Review: Watch back the footage you capture to make sure it’s high-quality and clear.
  • Fix & Build: Get hands-on with the hardware—assembling parts or making small repairs when the robots need a tune-up.
  • Action Labeling: Use your eye for detail to mark exactly when an action starts and ends (like identifying the moment a robot picks up a cup).
  • Object Identification: Use clear language to describe where things are and what they are (e.g., distinguishing between a zucchini and a cucumber).
  • Location: 100% Onsite at our lab in Santa Clara, CA.
  • Physical Activity: You’ll be on your feet quite a bit, sometimes wearing motion-capture equipment and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • The Vibe: Fast-paced, collaborative, and very hands-on.
  • Hands-on Experience: You’ve built or fixed things before—maybe you’ve worked with robots, or maybe you’re an auto mechanic who’s great with tools.
  • Tech Basics: You’re comfortable with a computer (Windows/Ubuntu) and can navigate simple coding tools like VSCode or Git.
  • Sharp Eyes: You have great spatial awareness and can describe exactly where an object is located on a table.
  • Clear Communication: You can explain "the why" behind your work and document your decisions clearly in English.
  • Basic Python: You don't need to be a developer, but you should be able to read an error message and understand what’s going wrong.
  • Degree: A BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field.

If you're a problem-solver who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty in a high-tech lab, we’d love to meet you.
