Quick Summary
Stretch your skills across Group-wide priorities — variety, pace, and meaningful strategic problems Work on the Group’s highest-impact strategic questions — from ambiguity to exec-ready recommendations Visibility where it matters — sharpen your consulting toolkit and influence senior leader…
Reporting to a ‘Head of’ within Group Strategy, you’ll work on some of the Group’s most complex and commercially important questions. This is a hands‑on strategy role focused on problem solving, analysis, and executive decision support.
You’ll help break down ambiguous business issues, develop and test hypotheses, run structured analysis and modelling, and turn insights into clear recommendations for senior leaders. The work spans Group‑wide and business‑level priorities and is delivered through high‑quality written and presentation materials.
As a consultant, you’ll own defined workstreams within larger strategy projects. You’ll execute analytical work with guidance from senior team members, contribute to shaping strategic options, and build depth in structured problem solving and strategic judgement. This is not a delivery, PMO, or transformation role – the focus is on strategy development and decision making, not implementation.
- Around 2 years of professional strategy consulting experience, ideally from a top‑tier or recognised strategy consulting firm.
- Hands‑on experience with strategy problem solving, such as:
- framing ambiguous business problems
- developing and testing hypotheses
- running qualitative and quantitative analysis including model building
- contributing to clear strategic recommendations
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to build rapport with the business and support functions.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and unfamiliar problems.
- Experience producing clear, structured slide decks and written materials for senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high‑quality work to deadlines while working collaboratively in small teams.
- Confident user of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word (essential).
- Proficient with safe and compliant AI tools to enhance productivity.
- Financial Services experience is helpful but not required – strategy capability matters more than industry background.
