• Conducting video interviews with potential volunteers
• Partnering with our team to create new volunteer opportunities

• Suggesting improvements to make our process more welcoming

• Using professional recruiting software and video conferencing
• Learning to assess candidates with different backgrounds fairly
• Understanding how mission-driven organizations attract talent
• Practicing written and verbal communication in professional settings

• Have done any volunteering (school, community, religious organizations)
• Grew up in a family or community that valued giving back
• Are curious about what makes people want to contribute their time
• Want hands-on experience in a professional environment
• Can commit 5-6 hours weekly with Wednesday 4 PM PT availability
• Are located in the US and are comfortable working remotely

• Experience with modern recruiting tools (ATS, LinkedIn, video interviewing)
• Interview and communication techniques
• Resume screening and candidate assessment
• Project management and coordination

• Real recruiting experience for your resume
• Strong letter of recommendation from our Chief Talent Officer
• Reference for future job or graduate school applications
• Network connections in nonprofit, civic tech, and recruiting communities
• Possible academic credit (we'll work with your school)

• Direct role in building tools that help millions of voters

• Skills in connecting people with meaningful opportunities

We believe in teaching by doing, with support. You'll start with extensive "fly on the wall" sessions, move to baby steps with coaching, and gradually take on more responsibility as you build confidence.

Our documentation is excellent because it has to be. We're a volunteer organization. You'll have guides for everything, and always someone to ask questions.

Weekly team meetings keep everyone connected. Regular one-on-ones ensure you're learning and growing. And our Slack channels mean you're never stuck without help.

Academic flexibility: Your education comes first. We work around your schedule, not the other way around.

Real mentorship: This isn't just task assignment. We invest in teaching you skills that will help throughout your career.

Reference and recommendations: Successful interns get strong references and letters of recommendation. We take pride in helping launch careers.
