NPD Engineer

We are looking for a New Product Development Engineer to join our Fabrics R&D Team in Shenzhen FTZ plant who will work with global & local cross functional teams to drive new product (composite fabric) development from concept through commercialization.

This role will be located at our facility in Futian Free Trade Zone, Shenzhen, China.

• →Partner with market facing team & customers to verify new product opportunities
• →Develop, assess product alternatives and fabricate prototypes for internal and external evaluation
• →Analyze and troubleshoot product performance gaps by collaborating with process & quality team, design & run experiments to validate processes & products
• →Collect customer’s feedback, finalize the product spec and officially transfer them for mass production
• →Apply disciplined project practices to define, execute, and document your project work, including effectively communication of the progress and outcome
• →Work with cross functional teams to develop and validate new testing & prototyping equipment, new testing methods & procedures to assess product performance
• →Identify unique product & process innovation opportunities for patent application and supporting the enterprise IP processes

• Bachelor or advanced degree in engineering or science (Textile, Polymer, Chemical, Mechanical, Material, etc) with solid experience on new product development/ introduction or new process development
• Self-motivated and self-directed, comfortable working in a rapid paced environment, good at multi-task and prioritization
• Good project management skills, ability to create, communicate project plan and uncertainties with cross-functional team effectively, deliver result timely.
• Good troubleshooting skill, able to identify technical uncertainties, propose resolving hypothesis and build plans to verify
• Excellent communication in both English and Mandarin (Written and Verbal).
• Ability to travel up to 5%

• Textile (fiber/yarn spinning, fabric weaving/knitting/dyeing and finishing…), non-woven, garment or paper development/manufacturing knowledge & experience
• Experience in applying statistical tools, example of DoE, validation process, etc
• Creative thinking with hands-on working style
