We are seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Construction Project Manager to oversee affordable housing projects with a strong emphasis on MSHDA and LIHTC compliance. This role is ideal for a professional who understands the administrative and regulatory demands of MSHDA-funded projects and is comfortable managing work in occupied renovation environments.
While a wide range of project types is not required, candidates must be committed to the nature of this work and interested in continuing within this specialized space long term.
Manage construction projects with a strong focus on MSHDA and LIHTC compliance requirements.
Oversee and coordinate occupied renovation projects, ensuring safety, communication, and minimal disruption.
Prepare, review, and submit required documentation, reports, and compliance materials accurately and on time.
Maintain detailed project records and ensure adherence to all regulatory, funding, and reporting standards.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and financial reporting, ensuring timely updates and transparency.
Identify and resolve design, construction, and scheduling issues as they arise.
Engage in business development by supporting proposals, presentations, and client relationship building.
Travel frequently to projects throughout Michigan (typically 1-1.5 hours from Grand Rapids but can be further project dependent).
Coordinate with owners, developers, inspectors, contractors, and internal teams.
Utilize project management and reporting tools to track progress and ensure accuracy.
Strong understanding of construction compliance, documentation, and reporting requirements.
Highly detail-oriented, analytical, and process-driven.
Comfortable with administrative and reporting responsibilities as a major component of the role.
Tech‑savvy; proficient with project management software and reporting tools.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
3 years of commercial construction project management experience.
Experience with MSHDA-funded projects preferred but not required.
Occupied renovation experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with LIHTC projects preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Valid driver’s license.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, and other project management tools.
Strong understanding of construction principles, project management, and financial acumen.
