About Woven by Toyota
Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation — expanding what “mobility” means and how it serves society.

Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

=========================================================================

Toyota is redefining what it means to move. We're challenging the current state of mobility by enhancing the movement of people, goods, information and energy. Centered around three core concepts - A Living Laboratory™, Human-Centered, and Ever Evolving City™ - Woven City serves as a test course for mobility to fulfill our purpose of well-being for all.

We do this by bringing together a diverse community of people with a shared passion for the future of mobility to co-create, develop and refine innovative products and services. This cross-section of social infrastructure, mobility, and people provides a unique opportunity for inventors, residents and visitors to interact seamlessly with new technologies throughout daily life in an environment that emulates a real city.

We'll expand "mobility" not only for people but also for goods or information. Regarding the mobility of things, we believe that if we can provide a service that makes moving things incredibly easy, it could potentially change our values and lifestyles. To this end, we are developing the Robot Platform—a shared infrastructure and product suite that enables diverse services to be built and operated using robots, smart devices, operations, and simulation technology. Going forward, we will collaborate with Inventors to expand platform capabilities and propose solutions, enabling customers both inside and outside Woven City to build and deliver services quickly.

We are looking for a Solution Architect who can bridge customer needs and platform engineering. You will work closely with Inventors and business customers to deeply understand their challenges, design solutions leveraging the Robot Platform, and drive development in collaboration with engineering teams. This role goes beyond system design—it involves transforming real-world use cases into scalable platform capabilities.
This position will also require travel to the Woven City field site in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, depending on the product development phase. If you are excited about building solutions at the intersection of hardware and software, and shaping a new platform from the ground up, let's make history together.
  • Elicit and structure requirements, challenges, and constraints from Inventors and business customers, and translate them into system requirements
  • Design solutions leveraging our own products based on a defined architecture
  • Contribute to the design of Robot Platform features, APIs, and data models within the assigned domain based on user requirements
  • Drive the design and validation of assigned features in collaboration with the engineering team
  • Organize feasibility, risks, and trade-offs from a technical perspective to support customer proposals and decision-making
  • 5+years of practical experience in BtoB SaaS, platform, or business-facing service domains
  • Ability to translate customer requirements and challenges into system requirements through direct customer engagement
  • Practical experience in system design or subsystem/feature component design, including API and data integrations
  • Experience driving design and development in collaboration with backend or infrastructure engineers
  • Strong Japanese proficiency for smooth communication with customers, and business-level English to clearly provide requirements to engineers
  • Foundational knowledge of systems involving robotics, IoT, or hardware
  • Practical experience in system design in infrastructure or backend domains
  • Practical experience in operations and services in logistics or mobility fields
  • Practical experience in the launching process of new products or platforms
  • Ability to involve stakeholders, concretize solutions, and drive validation for requirements with high uncertainty
