We are currently looking for Supervisor, Aquatics to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-Time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury. Under the leadership of the Vice President, Health & Wellness, the Supervisor, Aquatics is responsible for overseeing the operation of programs and services within the aquatics department. This includes managing swim lessons, enrichment courses, special events, scheduling, human resources, and staff and volunteer development. The Supervisor ensures financial targets are met and departmental budgets are managed effectively, all while maintaining compliance with YMCA policies, procedures, and service standards.     START DATE: As Soon As Possible LOCATION: Sudbury, ON RATE OF PAY: $ 50,000 - 68,000 / Annually HOURS: 40 Hours / weekly "Compensation for this position falls within the posted range and reflects the breadth of qualifications the successful candidate brings. Placement within the range is primarily based on relevant aquatic certifications and instructional designations, in addition to experience."   What You'll Do: Participate in the development and execution of the program delivery schedule Ensure full compliance with all health and safety regulations at all times Design and implement program initiatives that enhance member and participant experiences, aligning with the Health, Fitness, and Aquatics member retention strategyEnsure health regulations are being met at all times Oversee the coordination and scheduling of all departmental activities and programs, including partnerships and external groups, ensuring departmental objectives are achieved Effectively communicate program schedules on a sessional basis to members, participants, membership services staff, and program staff Stay informed on current aquatic regulations and industry best practices Respond to program-related inquiries within 24 hours, ensuring timely and professional communication Plan, coordinate, and oversee all departmental special events while supporting organization-wide events as needed Provide direct leadership in program delivery, modeling and mentoring service excellence Coordinate and oversee the scheduling of staff and volunteers to maintain efficient program operations Assist in the development of the department budget and maintains accountability, responsibility for the department fiscal goals Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to staff and volunteers to enhance their effectiveness and confidence in their roles Lead the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of staff and volunteers, ensuring all required certifications are obtained and maintained through scheduled training events Coach and mentor staff on best practices for effectively engaging and supporting volunteers Provide leadership in service delivery by upholding Y Standards of Excellence to maintain excellence in member experience Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization What You'll Bring: College diploma or University degree in Recreation, Sports & Leisure, Sport Management, Physical Education or related field Current YMCA/LSS Red Cross Instructor Current Standard First Aid and CPR C National Lifeguard Certification (NLS) in good standing Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a similar role Minimum of two (2) years of working directly in aquatics Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Advanced computer skills YMCA Trainer or Trainer Educator considered an asset Current LSS Instructor Trainer an asset First Aid Instructor Trainer an asset Pool Operator Certification considered an asset (must be obtained within the first year of employment) Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector What we offer As a charity and community-based organization, we know how important connection and wellness is, and we offer a workplace that invests in people.
