Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced direct service and community engagement professional who is passionate about resident-centered support, housing stability, and building strong communities. As a member of the Resident Services team, the Resident Connections Coordinator will support Aeon properties in Hennepin County. This role serves as a key partner in fostering safe, connected, and thriving communities by building meaningful relationships with residents, collaborating with property management and community partners, and connecting residents to resources and opportunities that support long-term stability and well-being.

 

The Resident Connections Coordinator reports to the Resident Connections Program Manager.

 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Develop supportive, professional relationships with residents that help enhance the quality of their lives, while supporting their ability to contribute to community-building within Aeon communities.
  • Coordinate with on-site and external service providers to provide responsive and proactive support to residents.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain partnerships with local social service and community agencies that effectively support residents in achieving their goals and addressing needs related to education, employment, and mental and physical health. Supporting residents in accessing mental health crisis services and other support systems may be a component of this role.
  • Provide opportunities for resident leadership through trainings, conferences, and other community connection experiences.
  • Partner with Property Management to support residents experiencing lease compliance concerns, housing instability, or other challenges, with the goal of resolving issues positively and quickly.
  • Coordinate and help facilitate resident meetings and events.
  • Consistently track, measure, and report program progress and outcomes through documentation and software.

This role requires a collaborative, adaptable, and relationship-centered professional who is energized by supporting residents, strengthening community, and navigating complex challenges with empathy, professionalism, and accountability. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to culturally responsive practices are essential to success in this role.

 

Additional requirements include:

 

  • Two or more years of related experience working directly with individuals impacted by mental health challenges, substance use, poverty, homelessness, or trauma, with previous case management or human services experience preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated ability and commitment to interpersonal interactions that are culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectations.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse communities, seniors and/or persons with high barriers is required.
  • Must have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
  • Experience in program development and management, and/or volunteer coordination.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trust and credibility with residents, staff, and community partners.
  • Enthusiastic approach to planning, promotion, and hosting group meetings and events.
  • Flexible schedule required as meetings and events will occur on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
  • A valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and regular access to a reliable vehicle are required.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer and attending meetings.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers.
  • Ability to move about the office to access files, meeting spaces, and office equipment.
  • Ability to reach above and below shoulder height to access file cabinets, storage areas, and office supplies.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 15 pounds on an occasional basis, such as meeting materials or event supplies.
  • Ability to regularly tour existing and prospective properties, including walking units, common areas, and grounds, navigating uneven terrain, climbing stairs, and working in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, in person and through virtual platforms.
  • Ability to work in environments with moderate noise levels, including shared office spaces, meetings, and event settings.

What We Offer

The pay range for this position is $24-$30 per hour depending on experience and skillset. Aeon offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, retirement plan, generous paid time off, and an employee assistance program.

 

This full-time position generally follows a Monday–Friday schedule, typically 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., requiring occasional evenings, early mornings, or other hours to accommodate special events, and key organizational priorities.

 

This is an in-person position and will rotate between Aeon's properties in Hennepin County, with intermittent visits to other Aeon properties throughout the Twin Cities and to Aeon's Central Office in the North Loop of Minneapolis. This position may work remotely from time to time. When working remotely, the candidate is required to travel to and from Aeon properties for urgent or unplanned matters and for regularly planned on-site visits, training, and meetings. As such, candidates must either currently reside in and around the Twin Cities metro area, or plan to relocate to accommodate regular planned and unplanned on-site needs.
