Under the supervision of the CEO and President, the Coalition Director plays a central role in driving the strategic operations, event execution, policy research oversight, and project management for a statewide health coalition. This position is responsible for leading, coordinating and implementing initiatives and projects for the statewide coalition; ensures member organizations work towards shared policy, programming and systems change goals. The Director serves as the central point of coordination among coalition members ensuring collaborative initiatives, statewide pilot projects, and strategic priorities advance effectively and achieve measurable results. The Director will also facilitate coalition communications; organize statewide initiatives, projects, workshops, events, briefings, coordinate legal and research projects, and lead the implementation and project management of grant projects and initiatives.
- Serve as the primary coordinator for the statewide coalition and foster strong collaboration among member organizations.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with coalition members and external partners.
- Develop strategies to increase member engagement, participation and collaboration
- Support coalition governance and provide staff support to leadership committees and advisory groups.
- Ensure timely communication of coalition activities, opportunities and accomplishments.
- Plan, schedule, and execute member webinars and briefings in partnership with external consultants and internal team members.
- Coordinate member communications, project updates, and implement communication strategies and hold member webinars (e.g., Comms focus, Media focus) and potential media briefings.
- Coordinate webinars addressing key challenges and cultivating opportunities.
- Coordinate monthly taskforce meetings in collaboration with coalition Steering Committee and leadership
- Build and maintain a visual framework/workplan to track tasks, responsibilities, and timelines for coalition initiatives and projects. Plan and oversee statewide convenings, workshops, policy briefings, and other events in collaboration with coalition leadership
- Coordinate speakers, facilitators, contractors, communications and participant engagement
- Develop educational programming that supports coalition priorities and member needs.
- Cultivate partnerships with government agencies, foundations, and community partners and identify opportunities for strategic partnerships that advance coalition goals.
- Direct and support interns and team members on key policy and research projects.
- Coordinate with legal and policy consultants to ensure timely delivery of key outcomes,
- Research and compile state/county statistics for key coalition topics and areas.
- Lead the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of statewide pilot projects and strategic initiatives
- Develop project plans, timelines, deliverables and accountability structures, and execute and manage contracts, scopes of work among coalition members.
- Coordinate cross-taskforce, coalition member teams as needed to ensure initiatives remain on schedule and achieve intended outcomes.
- Monitor project performance and prepare reports demonstrating outcomes and lessons learned.
- Identify opportunities to scale successful pilots.
- Establish and maintain a regular meeting cadence with member leads for progress tracking, alignment, technical assistance, and milestone reviews.
- Design a visual pilot project platform outlining overarching goals, guiding principles, implementation phases, milestones, and shared data collection expectations for all grantees.
