This position will directly assist and support the Office of Science, Brookhaven Site Office. Business Analyst will provide a broad range of analysis of business needs, identify improvement opportunities, coordinate closely with internal staff and external customers to support business requirements, enhance customer service, and provide administrative support.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Business Duties
- Implementation, Transition, and Maintenance of SharePoint daily
- Research and attend training on improving SharePoint and helping to automate systems currently in place.
- Work with Division Directors and SME's on creating best work practices
- Create and maintain office trackers needed
- Manage the On-Boarding checklist and process
- Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and helping develop solutions.
- Support ongoing reviews of business processes.
- Staying up to date on the latest processes and advancements to automate and modernize systems.
- Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
- Performing requirements analysis.
- Documenting and communicating the results.
- Effectively communicating insights and plans to team members and management.
- Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.
- Working closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff.
- Allocating resources and maintaining cost efficiency.
- Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.
- Help support projects and the development of project plans and monitor performance.
- Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures.
- Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
- Managing competing resources and priorities.
- Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Administrative Duties
- Update and Manage time in ATAAPS
- Create shipping labels for the office
- Assist with PowerPoint presentations
- Process and finalize correspondence letters as needed
- Assist in setting up ZOOM meetings
- Process and finalize some letters as needed

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or another scientific or technical discipline preferred
- ECBA or CCBA certification is preferred.
- Business Management Professional (BMP) Certification is a plus.
- A minimum of one year of experience working on IT projects
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a professional, polished style
- Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), database tools, and document control systems
- Work closely with the development team to ensure solutions meet business needs
- Translate requirements into functional and technical specifications
- Sound technical knowledge
- Excellent communication and verbal skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Experience with multitasking
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written skills
