We looking for a Senior Systems Verification & Certification Engineer to support a Landing Gear Program. The selected candidate will support the verification of the landing gear systems and equipment provided by third-party landing gear companies. The ideal candidate is an experienced Landing Gear Verification Subject Matter Expert who can independently review existing requirements, verification activities, supplier deliverables, qualification results, and certification evidence.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Review and update the landing gear system specifications and requirements.
- →Review requirements associated with landing gear systems provided by third-party suppliers.
- →Manage requirements and maintain end-to-end traceability.
- →Review requirement changes and evaluate their impact on the system and existing verification evidence.
- →Support the verification of safe-landing requirements.
- →Review existing verification and validation plans.
- →Review supplier test plans, test procedures, qualification results, and test reports.
- →Analyze existing qualification and certification evidence.
- →Confirm that the available evidence adequately verifies the applicable system requirements.
- →Identify missing, incomplete, or insufficient verification and compliance evidence.
- →Perform verification and compliance gap assessments.
- →Define additional verification activities or test cases when gaps are identified.
- →Prepare or update verification plans, compliance reports, and certification deliverables.
- →Support the preparation of the required means-of-compliance documentation.
- →Coordinate directly with third-party landing gear suppliers and internal engineering teams.
- →Track open verification actions and support their resolution.
- →Support the Landing Gear Program through certification readiness.
Requirements
~1 min read- Between 7 and 15 years of relevant aerospace engineering experience.
- Ability to work onsite in Burlington, VT (preferred) or remotely on Eastern Time.
- Strong experience in aircraft systems engineering, verification, qualification, or certification.
- Direct experience with landing gear systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience reviewing technical and verification deliverables produced by third-party aerospace suppliers.
- Experience with requirements management and traceability.
- Experience reviewing verification plans, qualification test procedures, test results, and test reports.
- Experience identifying verification and compliance gaps.
- Experience preparing or reviewing certification and means-of-compliance documentation.
- Ability to work independently as a technical subject matter expert.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience with a requirements-management tool such as DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or an equivalent solution.
