About the Role
~1 min readThis is a senior hands-on AV Engineer role responsible for the technical quality of everything Amplitude produces and broadcasts from its offices. You own the events, the studio, the conference rooms, and the visual standards of the office. When something in your domain breaks or needs support, you handle it.
Your primary responsibilities are high-stakes: quarterly earnings calls, biweekly All Hands, and all recorded content. Everything else exists to support those priorities and keep the environment around them performing at a high standard.
- Lead full production of quarterly earnings calls: camera operation, live switching, audio mixing, and broadcast coordination with external stakeholders
- Produce biweekly All Hands end to end: setup, live operation, recording, and post-production delivery
- Own all video recording workflows, including encoding, quality control, and final delivery
- Act as the technical lead for any other company-wide or executive-facing video events
- Define and maintain visual quality standards across all displays, conference rooms, and shared spaces
- Conduct regular audits of AV equipment to ensure every room meets the standard before anyone has to ask
- Own the look and feel of the physical AV environment in the SF office
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot all conference room AV: displays, cameras, mics, speakers, and control systems
- Manage the production studio: equipment maintenance, setup standards, and readiness for recordings
- Handle L1 and L2 support for conference room issues, Studio questions, and in-person peripheral troubleshooting
- Serve as Zoom admin for the SF office and support global Zoom Rooms configuration
- Manage Zoom visitor management workflows including lobby settings, guest access, and security compliance
- own conference room and Zoom support end to end, including escalation
- Manage peripheral inventory: restock ordering, tracking, and distribution
- Maintain organized IT hardware storage: labeled, inventoried, and audit-ready
- Coordinate with the broader IT team on equipment lifecycle and loaner management
- 3+ years in AV engineering, broadcast production, or a closely related role
- Demonstrated experience running live corporate video productions, earnings calls, All Hands, or equivalent high-stakes formats
- Proficiency with live switching, multi-camera operation, and broadcast encoding
- Hands-on experience with Zoom Rooms and Zoom Admin console
- Strong knowledge of conference room AV systems (Poly, Neat, Logitech, Crestron, or similar)
- High attention to detail around visual quality standards; you notice what others miss
- Proactive by default: you flag aging equipment before it fails, identify room or workflow improvements before someone complains, and bring a short list of risks or recommendations to your manager without being asked
- Consistent documentation habits
- CTS or equivalent certification is a plus
- Take ownership of your domain without waiting to be asked
- Have run a live event where something went wrong and handled it without the audience knowing
- Check rooms before meetings, not after complaints
- Treat the studio and storage the same way you treat a live production rig: everything has a place and a standard
- Are already thinking about next quarter's earnings call while this one is running
- See problems coming and address them before someone else notices
