Aprio’s L&D Senior Specialist, Tax Training is responsible for delivering high-quality training programs that enhance the professional growth and expertise of the firm's tax professionals. This role focuses on facilitating engaging training sessions, both in-person and virtually, that align with the firm’s strategic goals and industry standards. The L&D Senior Specialist, Tax Training collaborates closely with subject matter experts and tax partners to ensure that training content is accurate, relevant, and effectively meets the learning needs of Aprio’s tax team. This team member seamlessly translates complex tax topics into accessible and practical learning experiences and has a strong understanding of tax software. The incumbent is also responsible for assessing the effectiveness of training programs and making continuous improvements to ensure continuous learning and professional excellence.
The L&D Senior Specialist, Tax Training must be naturally curious, innovative, and capable of managing multiple training initiatives simultaneously. This team member has strong interpersonal skills, creatively engages learners, communicates effectively, and can adapt to the evolving development needs of the firm’s tax team. The L&D Senior Specialist, Tax Training reports directly to the Senior Manager, Learning & Development, and contributes to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence within Aprio.

Monitor, track, and report on the effectiveness and impact of training programs using the Kirkpatrick Model and ROI Institute methodologies, supported by data-driven insights and measurable outcomes.
Partner with U.S. and Philippine tax leaders, subject matter experts, and Learning & Development colleagues to assess evolving business, process, and skill needs, ensuring all learning solutions remain relevant and aligned with Aprio’s goals.
Conduct both qualitative and quantitative learning needs analyses to identify skill gaps, measure training effectiveness, and recommend improvement strategies.
Stay current on U.S. tax developments, industry best practices, and emerging trends in learning and development to ensure training remains practical, engaging, and future-ready.
Act as an internal learning consultant, assessing needs, recommending solutions, and implementing targeted learning interventions to strengthen team capabilities.
Recommend and lead innovative learning initiatives—such as new learning technologies, facilitation methods, or communication approaches—to enhance program reach and effectiveness.
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive learning strategies and curricula that align with Aprio’s business objectives and industry-leading standards.
Collaborate closely with Tax SMEs and stakeholders to conduct learning needs analyses and co-develop course content that reflects real-world client work scenarios.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with Tax SMEs, internal trainers and facilitators by clarifying expectations, reviewing materials, and guiding their instructional approach for consistent delivery quality.
Work closely with the Learning & Development leadership team to ensure tax training initiatives align with compliance requirements, internal standards, and professional development goals.
Prepare, analyze, and present reports and insights on team member participation, progress, and performance across learning programs.
Review and update learning materials—including presentations, manuals, e-learning content, and facilitator guides—to ensure technical accuracy, brand consistency, and adherence to NASBA and CPE standards when applicable.
Coordinate participation of Philippine-based tax professionals in external training, certifications, or tax conferences to enhance technical competence and professional growth.
Manage the end-to-end tax learning curriculum for Philippine-based professionals, serving as the primary contact for all training-related support, guidance, and inquiries.
Facilitate and deliver instructor-led and virtual sessions on technical U.S. Tax topics, ensuring engaging and impactful learning experiences that drive professional excellence.
Responsibilities related to managing one's projects to deliver work timely and efficiently, while maintaining effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with U.S. tax leaders, offshore operations teams, National Tax Office (NTO) and L&D partners to identify technical and process-related training needs, design training schedules, and ensure alignment with client and business priorities.
Manage multiple training projects simultaneously—ranging from curriculum design to facilitation and post-training evaluation—ensuring all deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and to Aprio’s quality standards.
Demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management skills when engaging with subject matter experts, tax partners, and cross-functional teams across offshore teams and the U.S. to ensure clarity, alignment, and consistency in training initiatives.
Coordinate and collaborate with external learning vendors or consultants to enhance content quality, streamline processes, and ensure timely and relevant delivery of technical tax programs in accordance with NASBA standards.
Exhibit strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills when resolving content or implementation challenges with SMEs and senior stakeholders, maintaining collaboration and trust across all levels.
Partner with Human Resources and Learning teams to align foundational programs—such as Tax Boot Camps for new hires and ongoing technical upskilling—with Aprio’s broader talent development initiatives.
Develop detailed training calendars, agendas, and event schedules that outline session topics, facilitators, learning outcomes, and timelines for both virtual and in-person learning events.
Facilitate consistent communication and coordination among key stakeholders in the Philippines and the U.S. to secure alignment, engagement, and support throughout each phase of program execution.
Present updates, insights, and recommendations to various leadership groups—including HR, L&D, Partners, National Tax Office (NTO) and Executive Leadership—gaining buy-in for new or enhanced tax learning initiatives.
Manage time and resources effectively in a hybrid and remote working environment, ensuring responsiveness, efficiency, and balance across competing priorities.
Support the annual L&D planning cycle by updating project plans, training schedules, and resource templates to ensure timely rollout of tax learning programs and initiatives.
Responsibilities related to leveraging technology to maximize the team’s impact in terms of processes and program value.
Leverage learning technologies and productivity tools—such as LCvista, MS Office Suite, Kahoot, Canva, and other digital learning applications—to design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality tax training programs for Philippine-based professionals serving Aprio’s U.S. clients.
Oversee the effective use and administration of LCvista and other learning management systems (LMS) to assign, track, and report training participation, CPE compliance, and learner progress.
Collaborate with the U.S. and Learning & Development teams to support system enhancements, data accuracy, and consistent reporting standards across regions.
Maintain and update L&D and Tax Training SharePoint pages, ensuring access to the latest training schedules, learning materials, recordings, and development resources for all team members.
Use proofreading and document collaboration tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, or any Aprio-approved platforms) to ensure all learning content meets Aprio’s quality, branding, and compliance standards.
Apply data analytics and visualization tools (such as Excel, Power BI, or any Aprio-approved tools) to evaluate learning effectiveness, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Utilize virtual collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams or similar) to facilitate live instructor-led sessions, webinars, and cross-regional meetings effectively in a hybrid environment.

Evaluate new digital learning tools and recommend technology solutions that promote continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and scalability across Aprio’s Philippines and U.S. tax teams.
Ensure all technology-enabled learning solutions comply with NASBA and firm-specific standards for CPE accreditation and professional learning documentation.
Bachelor's Degree - Accounting, Education, Psychology, Communications, Commerce, Finance, Human Resources or Taxation (Required)
Master’s Degree - Taxation, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or Business Administration (MBA) (Preferred)
2-3 years of experience using training software and tracking learning content in a learning management system (LMS), preferably LCvista. (Preferred)
2-3 years of experience coordinating in-person, virtual, and hybrid event management logistics. (Required)
2-3 years proven experience applying instructional design frameworks (e.g., ADDIE) and adult learning principles to design, develop, and deliver effective technical training programs. (Required)
2-3 years demonstrated ability to evaluate training effectiveness using learning analytics, feedback, and performance metrics, with a track record of implementing improvements based on data-driven insights. (Required)
2-3 years strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and build relationships across global teams. (Required)
