We are seeking a strong, engaged Clinical Lead who is passionate about supporting both patients and clinical teams in a fast-paced behavioral health environment.
This role is ideal for a clinician who enjoys mentoring others, strengthening clinical operations, improving documentation quality, and helping shape a healthy and collaborative treatment culture while still maintaining direct patient care responsibilities.

The Clinical Lead serves as a key support to the Clinical Supervisor and broader leadership team by helping ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. This individual helps bridge clinical operations, documentation quality, team support, and patient engagement to ensure continuity and excellence across the treatment environment.
General Description
The Clinical Lead is a senior-level clinician who supports the day-to-day operations of the clinical team. This role provides guidance to Counselors and Therapists, oversees quality of clinical services, ensures documentation compliance, and supports the implementation of evidence-based programming. The Clinical Lead plays a vital role in team leadership, clinical development, and operational continuity.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support onboarding and orientation of new clinical staff, including workflow education and EMR use
- Assist with quality review of documentation including treatment plans, progress notes, assessments, and discharge planning
- Participate in interdisciplinary staffing and support treatment planning meetings
- Act as a clinical resource for Therapists, Counselors, Recovery Support staff, and interdisciplinary team members
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy services
- Offer clinical debriefing, mentorship, and modeling of best practices in therapeutic engagement
- Coordinate therapeutic schedules, group curricula, and assignment of clients
- Ensure timely intake and assessment documentation for all new clients
- Collaborate with the Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor to monitor program integrity, census flow, and patient outcomes
- Assist with maintaining compliance with Joint Commission, Medicaid, payer, and state regulatory standards
- Participate in audits, surveys, chart reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
- Identify gaps in workflow or communication and proactively recommend operational improvements
- Support a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and patient-centered treatment environment
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or related field
- Candidates must hold or be eligible for a state-recognized credential or license in addiction counseling or behavioral health treatment, such as CADC, LADC, LCAC, LCAS, ADC, LPC, LMSW, or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in addiction recovery, mental health, or behavioral health treatment
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Working knowledge of clinical documentation standards and patient confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
Preferred Qualifications
- Independent or advanced clinical licensure preferred
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting clinical staff
- Experience with Medicaid documentation, utilization review, and evidence-based treatment programming
- Experience in residential treatment, detoxification, or substance use disorder treatment settings
- Familiarity with EMR systems and interdisciplinary treatment team collaboration

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily works indoors in a professional clinical treatment setting
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and computer use
- May occasionally assist with patient support activities requiring lifting or movement of up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to effectively respond to crisis situations and maintain professionalism during emotionally heightened interactions
- Requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Must maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality standards at all times
