About the Role
~1 min readBaxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Transportation Engineer III in our Peoria, IL office. This position will primarily consist of design engineering efforts on a variety of transportation projects and field presence for State, County, and Local Agencies. This team-orientated position will include working with Baxter & Woodmans diverse disciplines and offices within the transportation and construction fields.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Manage/Complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards.
- →Complete Federal Aid projects for a variety of clients.
- →Lead a variety of projects and study types including roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements.
- →Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
- →Assist with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects is preferred but not required.
- →Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors and public agencies.
- →Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests as needed.
Requirements
~1 min read- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois (or ability to acquire within 6 mos.)
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →5+ years of relevant experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects.
- →Knowledge of OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D.
- →Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodmans service area (own transportation).
- →Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
- →Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
- →Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals.
