About Technical Operations

BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.

The Associate Director, Transformation Delivery & Change Management is the hands-on delivery lead for BioMarin’s supply chain transformation agenda. Working under the direction of the Head of Supply Chain Strategy & Excellence, this individual contributor personally executes portfolio and transformation delivery, directs and coordinates change management, and provides hands-on readiness support for the integration of newly acquired or merged assets into the global supply chain.

The role blends disciplined execution with applied continuous improvement methodologies to ensure sustainable adoption of new ways of working across regions, sites, and functions. It is fundamentally a delivery role; success is measured by initiatives delivered, adopted, and handed over to operational teams.

• Manage the day-to-day portfolio of supply chain improvement projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and measurable value delivery.
• Facilitate governance routines, prioritize initiatives, and track benefits realization and KPIs.
• Build executive-ready KPI dashboards and portfolio reporting (e.g., Power BI) for leadership review.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources and manage interdependencies across initiatives.

• Provide hands-on integration readiness for new assets from mergers or acquisitions, acting as a facilitator and enabler alongside the SC integration lead and team.
• Support feasible readiness plans across planning, logistics, manufacturing interfaces, master data, systems, and governance.
• Coordinate functional workstreams managing risks, aligning dependencies, and keeping integration timelines on track against broader corporate objectives.
• Facilitate post-integration stabilization, KPI alignment, and continuous optimization of newly integrated operations.

• Own the change management approach for transformation initiatives: readiness assessments, communication, training, stakeholder engagement, and adoption tracking
• Direct and coordinate change management execution; provide the day-to-day guidance, priorities, and quality review that keep this work aligned to the transformation plan.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of change management to brief, direct, and quality-check delivery; and to step in hands-on when needed.
• Ensure enablement materials, workshops, and coaching are delivered and that success metrics are tracked through to sustained adoption, retaining knowledge and continuity regardless of resourcing.

• Identify and personally lead process improvement initiatives using continuous improvement methodologies
• Drive harmonization and standardization of ways of working across sites and regions.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

• Facilitate working sessions, governance forums, and decision-making cadences to align stakeholders and resolve blockers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships to foster trust, collaboration, and shared ownership of change.

• Define and monitor KPIs for change adoption and project outcomes.
• Ensure structured handover of initiatives to operational teams, with clear roles and responsibilities.
• Recommend and execute post-implementation enhancements to maximize long-term value.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or transformation roles within biopharma or regulated industries.
• Proven expertise in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or equivalent experience).
• Demonstrated success leading organizational change and managing improvement portfolios.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis), project management tools, and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI).
