Payroll Officer - Barbados Group

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, while maintaining strict confidentiality of all payroll and employee information. This role also ensures compliance with statutory payroll obligations and maintains accurate payroll records in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process payroll on a scheduled basis (currently weekly and monthly).
• Ensure appropriate approval received for timesheets, payroll adjustments and deductions.
• Accurately calculate salaries, wages, overtime, allowances, bonuses and deductions.

• Calculate all statutory payroll deductions including income tax and national insurance.
• Ensure timely submission and upload of statutory payroll payments and filings.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax and employment legislation.

• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll reports for management as required.

• Respond to employee queries regarding payroll, deductions and statutory contributions.

• Maintain accurate payroll documentation and audit trails.
• Support internal or external audits relating to payroll records and statutory payments.
• Prepare payroll reconciliations and summaries as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year’s experience in payroll processing.
• Experience handling statutory payroll deductions and filings.

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
