In collaboration with Lantis, a key contractor is executing the Rechteroever segment of the Oosterweel Connection project. This ambitious effort involves closing the Antwerp Ring through the construction of the Kanaaltunnels and the demolition of the iconic Merksem Viaduct to establish a recessed Ring, transforming the surrounding area into a greener, more modern zone. This project aims to significantly enhance traffic safety in and around the city, contributing to a healthier, more pleasant region for living, working, and visiting. As an experienced Head of Procurement, you will collaborate closely with the tender and project execution teams to ensure an optimal and timely procurement process during both the tender and execution phases. You will secure the most economical pricing for services and resources, considering project planning, technical requirements, risk management, and QHSES (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability). In this role, you will lead a small procurement team and be in constant communication with the tender and execution teams. The role reports directly to the Corporate Head of Procurement.

Procurement Organisation: Independently organize procurement activities for a specific project segment, ensuring a structured and efficient approach.

Team Leadership: Manage and guide a small procurement team, fostering collaboration and high performance.

Tender & Execution Phase Management: Oversee procurement during both the tendering and execution phases, ensuring competitive pricing for services and supplies while meeting project specifications.

Contract Management: Handle procurement files with involvement from the strategy and offer request stages to the final contract preparation and signing.

Project Advisory: Provide strategic procurement advice to the project team, contributing to project planning, risk management, and technical evaluations.

Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration: Work within a diverse team including design, work preparation, financial, and legal experts to meet project goals.

Cost Optimization: Drive cost-effective procurement strategies while upholding high standards of quality, safety, and environmental considerations.

Reporting: Report to the Corporate Head of Procurement, providing updates on procurement activities, progress, and key metrics

Execute tasks autonomously, leveraging established work protocols while offering room for individual interpretation and initiative.

Actively contribute to procurement strategies, offer requests, and contracting in alignment with the project's objectives.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience, focusing on large-scale civil works and infrastructure projects.

Expertise in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management in the construction sector.

Proven ability to manage and lead a small team effectively.

Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, market dynamics, and relevant Belgian and European regulations.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Fluency in Dutch and English is highly preferred; additional language skills are an asset.

Willingness to work from Antwerp, Wilrijk.
