This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute and make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable populations. We seek a dedicated Human Rights and Protection Officer to join our talent pool. The Officer will be responsible for implementing programs, conducting research, and advocating for the rights of marginalized and vulnerable groups in accordance with international standards and principles. Here are some key benefits of being in a talent pool: Linkage to employers Access to Opportunities and skill-matching Networking Career Development Position: Human Rights and Protection, Mid-Level (Global Talent Pool) Experience: 3 -7 years Location: Global Industries: Humanitarian, NGO, INGO Roles Within the Talent Pool Include but are not limited to: Legal Officer Community Protection Officer Refugee Rights Officer Human Rights Officer/Analyst Protection Specialist Advocacy Coordinator Program Manager, Human Rights and Protection Legal Advisor Field Coordinator, Human Rights Programs Project Officer, Protection and Advocacy Responsibilities Research and Analysis: Research human rights issues, including but not limited to discrimination, violence, displacement, and access to justice. Analyze data and prepare reports to support advocacy efforts. Advocacy: Collaborate in the development and implementation of advocacy strategies to address human rights violations. Monitoring and Documentation: Monitor human rights situations in specific regions or contexts. Document human rights violations and prepare reports for internal and external dissemination. Capacity Building: Develop and deliver capacity-building initiatives aimed at empowering communities to understand and advocate for their rights. Program: Planning, coordinating, and implementing protection programs, including workshops, training, and awareness-raising campaigns. Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams within the organization and with external partners, including local NGOs, government agencies, and international organizations. Participate in relevant coordination meetings, working groups, and inter-agency forums to ensure alignment with national and international protection standards and guidelines. Facilitate workshops and awareness-raising sessions on gender equality, child protection, conflict resolution, and other relevant issues. Administrative Duties: Conduct assigned administrative functions. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and relevant legal frameworks in all aspects of program implementation. Design and implement protection programs aimed at preventing and responding to human rights violations, including but not limited to conflict-related violence, discrimination, and displacement. Carry out all other related tasks assigned. Requirements Core Competencies Communication Skills. Interpersonal skills. A demonstrated ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and produce concise content. Demonstrate/safeguard ethics and integrity. Demonstrate corporate knowledge and sound judgment. Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and plans. Ability to work effectively in a team and an international environment. Technical Competencies: Research Skills Training and Capacity Building Data Analysis Legal Knowledge Monitoring and Evaluation Advocacy and Networking Capacity Building Program Management Protection Strategies IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in human rights, international relations, law, social sciences, political science, development studies or related field. Strong understanding of international human rights law and principles. Minimum of 3-7 years of relevant experience in protection, human rights, refugee assistance, or related fields, preferably within an international NGO or humanitarian organization. Solid understanding of international human rights law, refugee law, and protection principles. Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in other languages, particularly Arabic, French, or Spanish, is an asset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment. Demonstrated commitment to human rights, social justice, and equality. Proven experience in program design, implementation, and monitoring, with a focus on protection interventions. Willingness to travel to remote and challenging environments, sometimes for extended periods.
