Here are some key benefits of being in a talent pool: Linkage to employers Access to Opportunities and skill matching Networking Career Development Position: Shelter and Non-Food Items Junior level (Talent Pool) Experience: 1-3 years Location: Multiple (Kenya and Global) Industries: Multiple Responsibilities Assist in the planning and coordination of shelter and NFI distribution activities in response to humanitarian emergencies or crises. Support the procurement process for shelter materials and NFIs, including researching suppliers, obtaining quotes, and processing purchase orders. Assist in the management of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching shelter materials and NFIs. Participate in needs assessments and surveys to identify the most pressing needs of affected populations and inform response efforts. Provide logistical support for the transportation and distribution of shelter materials and NFIs to affected communities. Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of shelter and NFI assistance programs, including collecting data, conducting surveys, and preparing reports. Support community engagement activities to raise awareness about shelter and NFI assistance programs and promote participation among affected populations. Assist in the coordination of volunteers and partner organizations involved in shelter and NFI distribution activities. Provide administrative support, including organizing meetings, preparing documents, and maintaining records related to shelter and NFI assistance programs. Contribute to the development of communication materials, such as flyers, posters, and information leaflets, to disseminate information about shelter and NFI assistance programs. Requirements Core Competencies: Communication skills. Adaptability. Teamwork. Time management. Cultural sensitivity. Technical Competencies: Basic knowledge of humanitarian principles and standards. Familiarity with procurement processes and supply chain management. Understanding of logistics operations, including warehouse management and inventory control. Data collection and analysis skills, including the ability to conduct needs assessments and surveys. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software for documentation and reporting. Knowledge of shelter and NFI assistance programs and interventions. Basic understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms and partnerships. Ability to use mapping tools or geographic information systems for spatial analysis. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in fields such as International Relations, Humanitarian Studies, Social Sciences, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related areas. Relevant coursework or specialization in humanitarian aid, emergency management, or disaster response. 1-3 years of previous experience in humanitarian organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), or related fields is advantageous. Demonstrated interest in humanitarian work, social justice, or community development through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or relevant coursework. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software for documentation, data entry, and reporting. Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to work in diverse cultural contexts and with individuals from different backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced and challenging environments. Flexibility and willingness to learn, with a positive attitude and a commitment to professional growth and development.
