Here are some key benefits of being in a talent pool: Linkage to employers Access to Opportunities and skill matching Networking Career Development Position: Shelter and Non-Food Items (NFIs) Mid-level (Talent Pool) Experience: 3- 7 years Location: Multiple (Kenya and Global) Industries: Multiple Responsibilities Lead and manage shelter and NFI assistance programs, overseeing all aspects of program planning, implementation, and monitoring. Coordinate logistics and supply chain management activities, including procurement, transportation, and distribution of humanitarian aid supplies. Provide technical guidance and support to field teams and partners on shelter and NFI assistance interventions, ensuring adherence to humanitarian standards and best practices. Conduct needs assessments and surveys to identify the most pressing needs of affected populations and inform response efforts. Collaborate with government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated and effective response efforts. Monitor program performance and outcomes, collecting and analyzing data to measure impact and inform decision-making. Support capacity building initiatives for staff and partners involved in shelter and NFI assistance programs. Represent the organization in meetings, workshops, and coordination forums related to shelter and NFI assistance. Develop and maintain partnerships with donors, implementing partners, and local authorities to support program implementation and sustainability. Prepare regular reports, updates, and proposals for donors and stakeholders, highlighting program achievements, challenges, and lessons learned. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and donor requirements in all aspects of program implementation. Support emergency response efforts, including rapid assessments and deployments, to address humanitarian needs in disaster-affected areas. Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement within the shelter and NFI assistance team. Provide supervision, mentoring, and support to junior staff members and volunteers involved in program activities. Contribute to the development of strategic plans, annual work plans, and budgets for shelter and NFI assistance programs. Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, implementation, and monitoring of humanitarian programs. Proven track record of leadership and team management in humanitarian settings, with the ability to lead and motivate diverse teams. Strong technical skills in logistics and supply chain management, including procurement, transportation, and distribution of humanitarian aid supplies. Experience in conducting needs assessments, surveys, and data analysis to inform program design and implementation. Familiarity with international humanitarian standards and principles, including Sphere Standards, Core Humanitarian Standards, and humanitarian code of conduct. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in project management tools and software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and challenging environments, with a high degree of flexibility, resilience, and cultural sensitivity. Experience in financial management, budgeting, and donor compliance is desirable. Knowledge of risk management principles and security protocols in humanitarian settings. Experience in advocacy, partnership building, and representation with donors, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
